What’s New at the Weston Library

The Weston Library is Now Fines Free!

Just in time for Summer Reading, the Weston Public Library will go fine free on July 1! This means that we will no longer charge late fees on our materials moving forward and all existing late fees from our items will be forgiven. We hope that you will take this opportunity to visit the Library and check out some books, a movie, or something different from our Library of Things (maybe a yard game or the metal detector).
Please note that we will still charge for lost or damaged items and you will receive a block until you clear those from your account. Items that are long overdue will transition to “lost” automatically, but if you find it, just bring it back and all the fees will clear! Additionally, items borrowed from other libraries via interlibrary loan may still generate late fines based on the owning library’s policies.
The Weston Public Library is happy to join many other Connecticut libraries by going fine free. If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact the Library at 203-222-2665 or email westonlibrary@westonct.gov for more information. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you soon!

New Classic Literature Section

Looking for a classic novel to curl up with on these darker evenings? We’ve make them easy to find with our new Classic Literature section! You’ll find these books right at the front of the library, across from the Science Fiction section.

Tabletop Role-Playing Games

The Library has a new collection: Tabletop Role-Playing Games! We not only have the books for the various systems like Dungeon’s and Dragons, Pathfinder, and Star Trek, but also the dice needed to play. Grab a book from the shelf, a bag of dice from our Library of Things, and settle in with friends for some fun! Keep an eye on this collection as we will continue adding new systems of play as well as accessories to support your game nights.
