Take the Library to Your Child Week

February 6-13 for Families of all ages!

February 6th marks the 10th Anniversary of Take Your Child to the Library Day, a celebration started here in CT and now found happening at libraries all over the country on the first Saturday of February. This year with things being a little different, we have chosen to rename it “Take the Library to Your Child” and have made it a week-long celebration filled with pre-recorded and LIVE Virtual Programs for families to take part in at home. Plus, we have a limited number of registrations for Library Swag Bags. Registration required for most events. Here is a list of all events:

Monday, February 8:
10 am on Facebook LIVE: Storytime LIVE with books and songs all about the library for families of all ages.
4 pm via ZOOM: Cook a Book. We will read Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett and make homemade pasta. Registration Required for anyone that has not requested a swag bag.

Tuesday, February 9:

4 pm via ZOOM: Virtual Scavenger Hunt. We will have you running through your house looking for the most obscure objects. For ages 5+. Registration Required for anyone that has not requested a swag bag.

Wednesday, February 10:
4 pm via ZOOM: Minute-To-Win-It Games for ages 5+. Registration Required for anyone that has not requested a swag bag.

Thursday, February 11:
Video will be posted at noon: Take a picture of your book spine poetry and send it to us for our video. What is book spine poetry? Stack your books in a way that when you read the titles on the spine from top to bottom, they make a poem. Send pictures to apetrino@westonct.gov.
4 pm via ZOOM: Book Character BINGO for families of all ages. Registration Required for anyone that has not requested a swag bag.
